The Oviedo Department of Tourism has launched a new edition of Oviedo Llambión

From May 20 to June 15, 15 local pastry shops offer tastings to promote artisan confectionery, a hallmark of Oviedo’s tourism strategy

The Oviedo Department of Tourism has launched a new edition of Oviedo Llambión, the gastronomic route dedicated to local pastries, taking place from May 20 to June 15.
The aim is to continue promoting artisanal confectionery as one of the great values of Oviedo’s gastronomy, both for its tradition and its ability to attract visitors. The initiative began in 2024 as part of Oviedo’s role as Spanish Capital of Gastronomy and returns for its second edition with new activities and greater visibility.

The 2025 program features 15 pastry shops, all offering special creations for the route at fixed prices. The event also includes educational and training activities centered around confectionery. Organized in collaboration with the Guild of Artisan Pastry Chefs of Asturias and its school, ITEPPA, the route is part of the city’s strategy to promote year-round gastronomic tourism and help reduce seasonality.

“The first edition of Oviedo Llambión had a very positive impact on attracting gastronomic tourism,” said Alfredo García Quintana, Councillor for Tourism. “These initiatives help showcase our local products and allow more people to discover and enjoy our pastry tradition, which is an excellent introduction to our city,” he added, thanking the pastry chefs for their ongoing involvement.

The 15 participating pastry shops:

  • Asturias (Box of 3 regentas)

  • Auseva (French toast with pistachio cream)

  • Bombones Peñalba (Box of 3 chocolates)

  • Briz Boutique (Briz brioche)

  • Camilo de Blas (Carbayón)

  • Diego Verdú Turrones Monerris (Nougat ice cream bonbon with golden chocolate)

  • Dos de Azúcar (Hazelnut lolas)

  • Jarama (Peregrino)

  • La Celestina (Alfajores)

  • La Mallor (Updated casadiella)

  • Llambionadas (Resollo, cake filled with chocolate and apple compote)

  • Ovetus (Oviedo-style snack)

  • Reinas (Dos tierras, hazelnut cookies with guava cream)

  • Rialto (Special edition moscovitas)

  • Santa Cristina (Sara Bernard: sponge cake with buttercream and almonds)

Llambión Passport
Participants can request the Llambión Passport at any of the establishments. Each purchase earns a stamp, and with three different stamps, the completed passport can be submitted to enter a draw for three Oviedo Llambión product hampers.

Talks and Workshops
The program also includes two special events:

  • Tuesday, May 28 at 7:30 p.m., ITEPPA will host the talk and live demo “The Pionono, a Living History of Sweets”, led by Pepe Isla, master pastry chef from the iconic Casa Isla in Granada. Attendees will learn about the sweet’s history, watch its live preparation, and taste it. A discussion with hospitality students will follow, focusing on the current challenges of the pastry profession.

  • Tuesday, June 10 at 7:30 p.m., the Príncipe Felipe Auditorium will host the round table “Sweets of Yesterday, Sweets Forever”, featuring several Oviedo pastry chefs. The event will explore the evolution of local confectionery, its cultural role, and the challenges of preserving this tradition. It will conclude with a tasting of classic creations.
