Our cheeses are an ever-present delicacy in the cuisine of Oviedo, capital city of Europe’s largest cheese producing region. Here there are more than 40 types of cheese to choose from.

Four cheeses are DO: Cabrales (nanny-goat), perhaps our best-known; Gamonedo, usually on the pricier side; Casín y Afuehal’l pitu and Beyos, which is IGP. In Oviedo cheese is eaten like a tapa, served on a board, in sauces, on bread, as an ingredient in many different dishes…even in desserts. Their quality and variety – in composition, flavor and texture – and their direct connection to the local environment has made our cheeses culinary stars.
