Coffee

Our archipelago is the northern-most spot on earth where coffee is grown. The coffee trees on Gran Canaria are cultivated in the Agaete Valley and are of the Typica variety, one of the oldest types of Coffea arabica. It’s an exotic coffee with limited production (total harvests in the valley barely reach 5,000 kg), with a singular flavor that could be described as a “delicate infusion, very aromatic and complex, moderately acidic and subtly bitter,with hints of chocolate, licorice and fruit; a true delicacy.”
