Gandia joins Saborea España and strengthens its position as a gastronomic destination

Gandia has officially joined Saborea España, Spain’s national platform that promotes gastronomy as a key travel experience, marking a major step forward in the city’s destination strategy.

The announcement was made at a press conference with Mayor José Manuel Prieto, Councillor for Tourism, Beaches and External Promotion Balbina Sendra, and DestíSafor Vice President Gemma Hernández, highlighting the public-private collaboration behind this milestone.

Local authorities underlined that food and culinary culture increasingly influence travel decisions, and that Gandia’s entry into Saborea España strengthens its competitiveness by putting local produce and proximity sourcing at the heart of its offer.

First major showcase: Madrid Fusión 2026

Gandia’s first official joint action as part of Saborea España will be its presence at Madrid Fusión 2026, taking place from 26 to 28 January, now participating as a full member destination.

A decade of work behind the milestone

According to the city, this achievement is the result of a strategy that began in 2015, focused on building a distinctive gastronomic identity based on quality, authenticity and local value chains.
Initiatives such as Tasta Gandia have contributed to consolidating the destination by connecting gastronomy with culture and heritage.

Cuisine, produce and key local names

For Madrid Fusión, Gandia plans to showcase a wide range of its culinary heritage, with the city’s iconic fideuà as a flagship dish alongside stews, rice dishes, traditional pastries, local wines and liqueurs, and citrus products.

The city also announced participation from restaurants including Chef Amadeo, Parsifal, La Visteta de Barx, Casa Julia and El Asombro, as well as producers such as Cítricos Todolí, Vermut 4 Xavos, Vicky Foods, Cafés Climent, Bodegas Venta del Puerto and Finca Collado, plus sweet creations from Pastelería Raúl.
