Historically, the port of Vinaròs was one of the ports in the Spanish Mediterranean with the greatest number of hauls of oily fish, including whitebait and sardines. Thanks to this, there is a long tradition of preserving industries that still exist today. Whitebait and/or anchovies (when preserved) are one of the most widely consumed products in Spain and Vinaròs is an excellent place to try them.
